Argentina
Argentina is a huge country and unfortunately, we only had a chance to see only a fraction of this exciting land while visiting the unbelievable region of Patagonia (together with the more famous - Chilean part).
Although not as popular as the W Trek in Chile, Argentinian Patagonia also offers amazing hiking opportunities - especially the trek to the beautiful Fitz Roy. This trail is a perfect warm up before the W trek as it’s shorter, easier, and the weather conditions are usually more mild than in Chile. See below for the description of the entire trek.
Another amazing place to see in the very south of Argentina is the Perito Moreno Glacier - this is one of a king experience - don’t miss it while visiting the country!
We hope to return soon to Argentina and explore the rest of the country. So far, enjoy the amazing Patagonia:
The trail from El Chalten to the unique, rugged mountain Fitz Roy is one of the best in the Los Glacieres National Park - the part of Argentinian Patagonia (of which the amazing Perito Moreno Glacier is the main attraction - I’ll write about it soon). Fitz Roy is probably the most distinctive summit in the country - it consists of extremely sharp, triangular-shaped, pointy peaks that can be seen from afar along the beautiful hike. The town of El Chalten is a perfect base for hiking and the treks around are not only quite easy and affordable, but also are an amazing warm-up before doing the more difficult and exhausting W-Trek in Chile's Torres del Paine National Park.
